Your truck just wanted you to get some excercise...

Well that cant be true cause I was having a baseball catch with a friend while it sat there. Maybe it was mad at me for leaving it out ..........

My '02 5.4L has 103K mi. Only problem was one bad coil at 60K. Motor and tranny are in perfect condition. Does not burn a drop of oil and I tow a large ski boat all over Wisconsin during the summer. I love my truck!!!

'01 XLT with 116,000 miles. Had power steering pump replaced about 6 months ago but it's still noisy. Other than that runs like a champ...even tho I'm way overdue for a tune-up.

112xxx on my '01. Have had some issues:

2 EGR flow sensors
Clutch slave + new clutch (replaced when slave changed)
Intake plenum isolators (lean codes 0171 & 0174)
Current bad hesitation wihout codes, unknown reason

All but the EGR sensors have come after 100k, so it was a great truck until that point; amazingly I still have the original brakes and battery.

Sounds like it may be time for you to get a new coil pack and plugs. Mine was hesitating real bad right around 100K. I went in for my 100K mile service and that is what the dealership said was wrong with mine. I never did get a SES light either. After that and the induction service, she was running like a million bucks.

Thumbs up 195565 miles and still strong!!!

Hi folks,
195560 miles and just had a bout with a vacuum leak but other than that my 98 f-150, 4.2 efi is running strong. Still got 190 psi on all six have never had any major engine/drive train problems just little gremlins that creep up and bite you once in a while. Like this vacumm leak, had to go through the pain in replacing a bunch of parts $500.00 worth to ultimatley find out that a $.50 rubber 90 degree hose was the culprit. Looks like I'm at least going to be changing some hoses out. The good thing about this is that I have a bunch of good back up parts for any further issues that may arise.

Just clicked past 165,000 miles exactly today. Like 4/10th of a mile down the road later, my throwout bearing blows.

25K miles on new engine

Cool 292,308 miles as of 02/06/2008...

Yessir, almost 300k and with original motor, tranny and powertrain components. Of course may tires, sets of brakes, one tune-up, 3 alternators, 3 radiators, 2 serpentine belts, many oil changes, one heater core, clutch set and regular maintenance including wear and tear.

I have a Bronco II 4x4 with 177k original miles. It is a great truck and other than the power steering pump, shocks, and nice BFG 235 70 15 tires is completely original. My new 2003 F150 4x2 4.2L is running great at 1000 miles .

My tip to you all is drain your engine coolant regurlarly, and put some Ford, or your favorite brand, of stop leak pellets in with the new fluid. Im going to do this at 50K on my 2003, and try to ward off the gasket issue, just in case. LOL
Check this out... f150 v6, got it on Nov. 2006 brand new up today it has 118,625 mi it had a rough idle around 116,000 it just needed a tune up (wires, plugs and coil pack) an it still running good and keeping adding more miles.... let me know what you think.

Congrats on the miles on the truck. I am hoping for 200,000 miles on mine. After reading your post I think it should make it. 140,000 miles on my 99 xcab 4.2.
