Well I put the hood up and looked at the engine, trying to look like I knew what I was doing, with the hood still up I tried again and it started. I have no idea why it did that but I started it again a little later and it started right up .

112xxx on my '01. Have had some issues:
2 EGR flow sensors
Clutch slave + new clutch (replaced when slave changed)
Intake plenum isolators (lean codes 0171 & 0174)
Current bad hesitation wihout codes, unknown reason
All but the EGR sensors have come after 100k, so it was a great truck until that point; amazingly I still have the original brakes and battery.

195565 miles and still strong!!!
Hi folks,
195560 miles and just had a bout with a vacuum leak but other than that my 98 f-150, 4.2 efi is running strong. Still got 190 psi on all six have never had any major engine/drive train problems just little gremlins that creep up and bite you once in a while. Like this vacumm leak, had to go through the pain in replacing a bunch of parts $500.00 worth to ultimatley find out that a $.50 rubber 90 degree hose was the culprit. Looks like I'm at least going to be changing some hoses out. The good thing about this is that I have a bunch of good back up parts for any further issues that may arise.

I have a Bronco II 4x4 with 177k original miles. It is a great truck and other than the power steering pump, shocks, and nice BFG 235 70 15 tires is completely original. My new 2003 F150 4x2 4.2L is running great at 1000 miles .
My tip to you all is drain your engine coolant regurlarly, and put some Ford, or your favorite brand, of stop leak pellets in with the new fluid. Im going to do this at 50K on my 2003, and try to ward off the gasket issue, just in case. LOL
