The Motorvator Throttle Body Spacer

Well, I've tried the PowerAid and got nothing but whistles - so I took it right off. But have any of you tried 'The Motorvator?' It's $89.99....whatcha think?

IMHO, DONT get them if you had bad results from the PowerAid Apsacers. THe concept both products use does nto work in our aplication as far as I know.

yup hes right on that. i heard those are best for carburated engines. they are a waste of dough.

yea the tb spcers dont really dont anything for our engines...... but intake spacers do, they improve some good torque numbers at 3.8mustang.com theres this guy named flex who makes tb and intake spacers for 3.8/4.2l engines those are the best around imo and like $130 for both the intake and throttlebody spacer.

I'm guessing that, like everything else, it depends on what you have installed on your vehicle as to what effect a new part has on its performance. I have 3" exhaust on my truck, which some people would probably say really decreases the torque. I installed the Motorvator TBS at the same time I did the exhaust, so I was curious as to what effect the TBS had on the performance and took it out. I really felt a difference. My tranny was all over the place without it in and I think it's because the 3" exhaust took so much from the torque. So in my experience, I'm saying that the Motorvator TBS works great in my setup.

Addition: I'd be very interested in seeing actual dyno numbers if anyone has the resources.

hey Sk8inrj1, did you do your emblems yourself? I saw in your gallery you said you took off your masking tape...did you just peel off the black part or what?

General Consensus

So, if I understand correctly, it has been said that throttle body spacers may do very little for EFI engines? I've been researching this as a potential upgrade to my 4.2L

Auto Zone has the 'Tornado' on sale for $69. It looks similar to the 'turbonator' which gets mentioned here every couple months. Do a quick search on this site for Turbonator.
