v6 idle speed?

just curious, what is the correct idle speed for the v6? Mine idles at about 800 to 900 rpm. This seems a bit high to me. I suppose that the tachometer maybe isn't too calibrated. Any thoughts - just curious.

Dave

PS: 2002 v6, 5 spd, no chip, no nothin' - just stock.

Sounds about right. My old '97 V6 idled about 850, and had a manual tranny. Manuals idle slightly higher than automatics.

My tach needle jsut broke so I can't say what my idle rpm really is but when the needle was still on it idled at 500-600rpm and sounded about right, but when adjusted to 900rpm it sounded abit too high for idle. Probably was my needle, grrr need to stop at the junk yard for a damn needle now.
