What did that F150 cost you??

Thought maybe we should let others know how much we paid for ours trucks. So when your lookin you will have some idea of what it will cost. I know this will vary for different dealers and states.

I bought a used (slightly) 98XLT,4WD,S/C,Auto,3.55LS with the Preferred Equipment Pkg.507A this includes A/C,AM/FM Stereo w/Cass,Speed Control/Tilt Steering Wheel & Polished Aluminum Wheels. Dark Toreador Metallic,Medium Prairie Tan clothe interior.

I paid $22K even for it in Dec with only 11k miles on her. Although I think this is alot of money, it also is an AWESOME truck!!

Ordered a 99 SC XLT 4x4 weeks ago, was supposed to be in on 3/29. Ordered it as an XLT which includes the preferred equipment package, trailer towing package, upgraded P255 16 inch tires which includes the 3.55 axle upgrade, 4.6 motor with the manual transmission, sliding rear window, four wheel disc abs, and carpeted floor mats. May have forgotten an option its been six weeks. I'm getting the truck for $23700 from a dealer in nearby TN. It was the best deal I could get around this neck of the woods. I live in southwestern VA. Sounds like you got a nice truck, its hard to buy a used truck of anykind and not pay an arm and a leg for it. After looking at several used trucks(nothing older than a 97) and their prices I decided to but a new one and sell my 91 XLT LARIAT for the downpayment. Goodluck with your truck can't wait for mine to come in. The truck listed for $26550 on the sticker.

'97 f150 4X2 reg cab XLT flareside V6 auto
40/60 split cloth, color key grille & mirrors, P255/70R 16 OWL all season, preferred equipment package 507A, 3.55 axle, TX/OK/LA pkg (-$500), 202 #1 p/l 2030/gvwr 6000 lbs, trailer towing pkg, remote keyless entry/anti-theft, 6 cd changer and premium sound, power everything, silver frost. (ordered, not just off of dealers lot)
$21,740.00
got: ford bug shield, guidon tonneau, ground effects, bedliner, glasspack (sp?) w/ "Y" exhaust, tint, lariat floor mats (i know its not a lariat, but dad can get ahold of this stuff easily)
but i believe my dad got it for $19,275.00 (i'll check)
who knows how to decode the VIN? i would like to know when it was built. i believe it was delivered 12-09-96. wasn't the color key grille only available on 4X4's when the trucks first came out in 1996? my sticker says chrome grille and i know the truck first had a chrome grille and it was replaced with the color key (b/c that's what i wanted) before it left KC.
i remember when i saw my first load of '97 f150s on my dad's allied systems truck. love at first sight.

Henry Ellal,
I too have an XL and wondered how to install a tach. Do you mind giving me any info that you may have found on this? Is the tach wire including in the harness, etc?
Thanks! elktag1az@aol.com

I forgot to add keyless entry, tow package, rear sliding window and fog lights. The window sticker was still in the truck and MSRP was $28150.

These trucks are very hard to find used in my neck of the woods!

Mods so far have been bedliner, window vents, bug shield, Westin nerf bars and SuperChip.

ELKTAGAZ. Take a look under aftermarket, other aftermarket and click on tach install. Danny was quite helpful. I'll try the installation over the weekend and I'll post the results.
