Post Baumann Kit Instructions

Anyone,

Okay, don't laugh too hard when you read this thread!

I received my Baumann shift kit for my 4R70W tranny two weeks ago now. For reasons, I won't take the time to list, my mechanic is just getting the time to install the kit. Well, he has had the instructions during this time and has been studying them to ensure his ability and knowledge of the installation. Today was supposed to be the day and guess what? He misplaced the instructions!

Would anyone have the installation instructions for the AODE/4R70W Baumann Engineering shift kit that would be willing to fax a copy to my office? Oh yeah, before you say it! Yes, I have called Greg twice and emailed once today. I told him that my trans pan was off, valve body out, and I needed the instructions ASAP! I won't say anymore, I don't want to get started.

By the way, my office fax number is (530) 662-2359, attn: Bim Scott

Thanks

Hi CrazyaboutF150,
Sounds like this should be worth at least a $50 discount - lol. I wished I had seen this last night as I could have faxed you a copy this morning. Unfortunately, now I won't be near a fax machine until Monday morning and will fax you a copy then. Hopefully someone else here can beat that time.

crazyaboutF150,
I'll make a pdf file and post it here (it may be very large) as well as "try" to send you a fax. Just hang on for a bit and I'll see what I can do.

Here's a link to the installation manual in pdf format. It's 2.7MB so be warned if you're using a 33k modem or similar. Some of the text that I highlighted during my installation didn't scan well, so I added a page at the beginning with the missing information.

Baumann Installation Manual

Hope this helps.

Hey GoDogGo and gah,

Thanks for your timely response guys. I'll take the fax on Monday. I must be needing to put some money/hp into our home computer to read that pdf file gah.

Anyway, a semi expensive lesson on the tranny. Picked up the truck today, of course no kit installed, and I'll take it back next week (maybe) for the installation.

Hey guys, how satisfied are with the kit? Have you had any challenges in getting responses back in a timely manner from Greg? I've just had too many! Just trying to get the kit after sending a check, finally receiving it after 2 1/2 months from ordering date, and called twice/emailed twice/faxed three times for instructions.

My mechanic says that if you have this much opportunity in getting responses before installation, how about afterwards when technical support is needed for what ever reasons.

Thanks again, I'll get your fax before hearing from you know who.

Hey GoDogGo,

Sorry for the late response, I've been busy this week. Got your fax on Monday morning as well as one from Karl Baumann. Thanks!!

My truck is scheduled for the installation on Friday. The garage is trying to fit me into their tight schedule. I'll post my results after the installation.

Hey Neal,

Thanks for the advice. Speeder (Larry) had already emailed me concerning the overdrive line pressure.

Good thing. I haven't had much luck with getting the kit installed due to my mechanics work load at his garage. He has promised me that this Friday he will start and finish by Saturday. He's fitting my truck in while working on vehicles for customers that have mechanical problems.
