Hi, My shift point with a superchip is 4500 RPM at WOT 1st to 2nd.I haven't noticed between 3rd & 4th. I like the look of your truck. What kind of lowering kit did you put in it? And did it affect the clearance on your exhaust.

Thanks for the response EVO! My truck has a Ground Force 2-4 drop. I did the exhaust after the drop. My super chip is running up to 5200 in first and shifting from 2nd at 4500, like yours. It puts me in 3rd at around 65 mph and 3500 rpm. I think that is killing my ET because I am accelerating in third at low rpm the last 1/8 mile. Super chip is working on a flip chip for me right now which should take care of that. I just wanted to know if it is normal to shift out of 2nd at 4500. Thanks!
Hi Flats Man, Glad I could help. And thanks for answering my ?'s. I'm putting a Kenne Bell on(in) next week. I think I'll need more traction. My question is about your Caltracs( cheapest price +). Do you have to run them preloaded all the time and does this have any detrimental effects to the suspension? Because I thought they were a strip only traction bar. Also what size tires are you running? I already put my new borla exhaust on (dual out back) do you think I'll have clearance problems? It looked like I had aleast 5 or 6 inches over the rear axle.
Those RPM shifts sound a little low. My shifts with a superchip are all at 5200 rpm. Actually the 5200 rpm shift from 2nd to 3rd is to high. You can feel it running out of its peak power band at about 4900. In my opinion, the shift points should be lowered a little.

Hi Flats Man,
With the stock ECU program, my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts were around 4500 rpms. With my custom (flip-chip) Superchip, I asked for a 1-2 shift @ 5600 rpms and the 2-3 shift @ 5400 rpms.
With my modifications, I pulling great up and making power up to those shift points. My little 4.6 runs pretty dog gone good!

Hi CrazyaboutF150,
Thanks for the info! Right now I am planning on 5400 for both 2nd and 3rd gears. It looks like your are setting yourself up real well for your blower. I will be going to a smaller blower pulley so I may elect to leave the RPM at 5200 so I don't over spool the blower. I am talking to Mike T tomorrow and will do what ever he suggests. Have you run your truck in the 1/4? I think it would do well.

EVO, The Cal Tracs are absolutely necessary with my truck if I launch at full throttle. Before< I was getting bad axle wrap and wheel hop. So bad that I had to come off the gas to end it. They are slightly preloaded which is perfect for my truck. I got the Low Profile model that is very hard to see from the street. I can launch this truck with my hands off the wheel it is so straight.
Chucky Tucky- I pulled the last dyno chart on my truck and I am still making HP through 5400 RPM which is where the rev limiter shuts me down. This blower likes RPM so I think I will be fine with the limit set at 5200 or maybe even 5400.

Just a last update. I ordered a flip chip from Mike T. with a 5200 rpm limit on the street/trailer towing side and a 1/4 mile side that is more aggressive with a 5400 rpm limit. I will do another dyno for rear wheel HP and F/A ratio and post the results.
Hi EVO-sorry it took so long to get you a response. My fuel cut-off is also at 5400 rpm but will be raised to 5600 with the chip if I am understanding things right. When I do the next dyno after the new chip, I will let you know.
HI!... FLATSMAN : My custom SUPERCHIP makes the 1ST to 2ND shift at 5800rpm and my rev limiter was raised to 6000RPM. My 2ND to 3RD shift is at 5400RPM and the rev limiter was raised to 5800RPM. My truck pulls really hard up to 5800RPM in 1ST gear and my power does'nt FALL OFF at all.
FLATSMAN : When you are at the dragstrip, do what I learned to do for the best times when I had my old SUPERCHIP in. Leave the starting line with the truck in drive. As soon as the tranny shifts into 2ND gear pull the gear shifter into 2ND gear. Hold it there until your RPM's hit 5100RPM and then shift it into 3RD gear. My truck goes about 3 tenths slower when I let the tranny shift it'self. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks for the tips Neal. I have ordered the chip from Mike T. and I will be happy with the new rev limits for now. I ran a 15.1 with it shifting out of 1st at 5200, 2nd at 4500 and dropping into 3rd at 3500 inside an 1/8 mile. My goal is low to mid 14's right now. I will let you know how I do when the new flip chip comes in and I can test & tune it. I will have to look you up sometime. I come up to DTW about twice a month and would like to make it over to SHM one day. I would also like to see your truck! I am still looking for a 4.6L throttle body elbow to port out if you see any.
