vibration fixed
vibration fixed
I fixed my vibration. I used the hose clamp method and it works.
I put the rearend of the truck on jack stands (dont let the rear end hang down) removed the rear tires and put the lugs back on to hold the rear disks on, then I ran the truck up to speed and it would buzz and vibrate like hell. I then marked my drive shaft at both ends in 4 spots, 90 degrees around the drive shaft. I started at the back of the shaft first and I placed the screw end of the hose clamp on the #1 position which I had marked where the yellow paint is, as this is supposed to be the light side of the shaft. I then ran it back up to speed checking vibration. I then stopped the truck and moved the hose clamp to the #2 position, then the #3 etc untill the vibration was the least. I then added a washer under the clamp at the screw end untill the vibration was even less. I couldn't get rid of all the vibration untill i did the transmision end of the shaft in the same manner a viola no more vibration. I think I will ake the haft and get it proffesionnally balanced as I now know where the vibration is coming from. Please take care if attempting this as I take no responsibilty for some one's incompetance. Dont move the clamp with the truck running it may hurt like hell till you stop breathing. and block those front tires as well.

What year is your truck? I just took my truck to my dealership yesterday because I have a vibration from 50mph and then it goes away at 55mph. They ordered me a brand new driveshaft. Hopefully that fixes the problem.
