tranny question??

Question tranny question??

On my 99 F-150 5.4L, I have the calss III towing package, does that include the trans cooler and oil cooler?? Also do I have the 4R-70 or the 4R-100 tranny?? whats the diff??

You should have an external trans cooler not sure about the oil cooler though i have a 00 and dont have one. You probably have the 4r70 unless you have the 7700 payload group. the differnece between the two trans is the input tourque they can handle 4r70=700 lb-ft 4r100=1000 lb-ft

Look into the grill of your truck. If you look low down on the passenger side, you will probably have a better view looking under the bumper, you should see the aux. tranny cooler. On the driver's side, you'll see a smaller cooler and that's for the powersteering.

Open the hood and look at the lower radiator hose below the coolant reservoir tank. You'll not only see the hose from the tank connecting to the radiator hose, but you'll also see another and this one goes to the oil cooler that's mounted between the oil filter and engine block. You can also look at the oil filter and you'll see the two coolant hoses running to the oil filter mount.
