Post Overdrive light flashing

The factory manual said it means there is a short in the electronic pressure control circuit.

Can anyone explain what that is/means? And know what is involved in fixing it.

The truck is a '97 w/ 85,000 and a 4.2 auto.

Thanks,
-dB

A flashing overdrive light means there is a problem with the transmission system. There are about 50 different things that can turn the light on. You need an OBDII scan tool to read the code. With this code we can start to talk about what to fix. Without the code you just start buying and installing parts, hoping to find the right one.
