Hoping Factory_Tech or someone who can identify these codes can help. Had to have trans replaced in SuperCrew at 3,000 mi. New trans looks different. Bottom of pan says both "Ford" and "Metric". Here are the codes from the tag on the trans. I have searched the forums but could not find codes that matched mine exactly.
PKF-BX (in large letters)
YL3P-7000-MA
100739
Casting on the side of the trans reads: RF-F7AP-7006-AA
The new trans works much better than the original one ever did. I'm just curious to know the origins of this new one. Thanks in advance.

That's a 4R70W I'm pretty sure, it's definitely not a 4R100. The 4R70 is a Livonia box, so I really don't know much about it. We build a few models of 4R70 at Sharonville, but only for passenger cars, and that's not the line I work on. Hope this helps.

My 2001 Supercrew, looks like is using the 4R70W, ??, (Tran code is "U"), the trans dip stick call for Mercon V fluid, the transimssion label (passenger side) reads as follows: 1S, PKF-CS1, 1L3P-7000-LA, 032472, trans date code is 10-7-2000, there is also a yellow sticker "before repair TBS for the 4R70W exchange, expires 10-31-00 "?.
I am confused, the manual has a parragrph about the 4R100W, being programmable according to your driving (memorizes your style), so I was hopping that mine was a 4R100, anyone out there know for sure ?

1L3P-7000-LA is a 4R70W. Some Supercrews have the 4R100, but only if you have a 5.4 with the LEV package, availible only in states that require it. I know VA does, think that NY and NH do and I'm pretty sure CA is still an LEV state. All Lightnings are LEV compliant and get the 4R100.
