The green 'Prior to Repair' sticker is not an indicator of anything wrong with the transmission. Ford will occasionally sticker every transmission made for a given period (ussually about a month) for statistical process control reasons. What they're looking for is any failures within the stated period to be returned to the factory for analysis, and the owner gets a new transmission instead of having the broken one repaired. The given production period is the control set, the failed transmissions are the sample. Don't worry about the transmission unless you have problems, and if you do before the test period ends, you get a new one. It's actually a plus to have a stickered transmission.

Howdy Mr. Factory Tech,

I was wondering if there is a way to stop my steering column from squeaking? (99 Superduty) The dealer has greased it twice. It only lasts a couple days. Can the bushings be replaced or something else?? Also, how hard is it to do myself? The airbag is kinda making me nervous or else I would have tore into it by now. Thanks!
