1989 F150 300EFI I want to
convert the manual shift to a
automatic.What type trans.would
i install.The manual trans.is
wearing out clutches about every
5to6 months.I would really like
to change it over to an
automatic if i cant find the
problem.

I believe you will need a C6. But you could contact Art Carr or baumannengineering.com as they can convert any Ford over to the newer auto trans with overdrive.

Hey Bo, A friend of mine had this problem also, the reason he was going thru clutches so fast was that, something to do with the clutch fork being bent or something. It may be someting to check out.
