Removing the boot from the plug.

I had a hose leak on my spark plug & coil,it was a real pain to find out why I was running like crap. The leak was very small and hard to find.Anyway I changed the coil myself because they said it was not under warranty, they wanted $310.00 to repair the heater hose and coil.
My question is,is there a trick to pulling up the boot from the spark plug.I pulled it so hard that the silver clip that goes over the plug stayed on the plug and I had to change that also, another problem,I had to borrow a special tool from a friend who work's for a garage with the city who has what I needed. Now I wonder if I take my truck in for a tune up if they are going to change the coil and plugs too.
It will need it some day. Thank's

*hammer-

Ease of the next coil removal=dielectric grease.
The coils are removed at a tune up that includes plugs.
The coils are not replaced unless they go bad.

The coil did go bad, because before I changed it the Truck felt like it was running out of gas.I brought it to Ford and they told me the heater hose split and water leaked on the coil. After I replaced it it ran strong,by the way when do you change your plugs.
