A Question About Transmission Shudder

My truck has developed this ungodly shudder when going to throttle at about 30mph. Feels like going over rumble strips. Shakes the whole truck. Is this the transmission shudder I have been reading about in these posts?? I notice it more on slight inclines. I have a 97 4.6 auto with tow package.
It has been doing this since changing my transmission fluid with a synthetic blend mid summer. Should I go back to non-synthetic?
Otherwise this transmission shifts great (I have the chip) and I have no other problems with it.
Any EXPERT advise would be greatly appreaciated.

What type of fluid did you use? Did it have a MERCON or MERCON V rating?

It actually had a rating for both. I only drained the T/C though because I was on the road. It was really hot where I went (Texas in August) and I thought changing half the fluid would be better then nothing.
I already have the filter and will be doing a complete change this weekend. Don't want this to turn into a rebuild...
