Ask yourself this question. Would you trust your surgeon if you overheard him asking the next guy, "how hard of an operation is this?". Read the shop manual and ask yourself if you feel comfortable enough to do it. You will need at least a floor jack to hold the tranny and a brace of some kind to hold the motor in position so it doesn't move when the reanny is unbolted. Basically the starter comes off, the exhaust is in the way, if it is 4x4 the torsion bars are in the way, you have to mark and remove the drive shaft, plug the tail housing. You will need some tranny oil just in case. You need a special tool to disconnect the slave. A press of some kind is needed to set up the pressure plate. It is winter here in Windsor and my slave cylinder is leaking. I have a 4x4 and I don't feel like doing it. My cost to have it done is about $600.00 CDN. What I am doing now is adding brake fluid till the weather warms up. ;(

yep, its a 4x4

600 CDN wow, this does sound quite involved, and is pobably why it costs so much.Probably, best left to a qualified shop.I guess I will have the dealer take a look (still under warranty) at my tranny and see what they have to say and go from there.
