'92 f150 5.8 L o/d button light stuck on

my overdrive button on the shift lever is stuck on, meaning my overdrive is off. any ideas on fixing this?

One of two things going on here...

1. Your button is stuck, or the wiring inside the stalk is making contact. You'll need to pull the **** off and look.

OR

2. There is a malfunction with the transmission.
