Shorted Battery now no Overdrive
So i was driving home from Indianapolis today and hit a fairly big pothole on the highway. This jarred my battery enough that it jumped up and apparently shorted out on the underside of the hood or something. It shorted so much that i lost all electrical power going 75mph down the highway. I pulled over and pulled the positive cable. Everything turned back on and away I went, or so I thought.
I went through the first gears fine but as soon as i got to where the tranny switched to OD, the RPM's just went up like the truck went to neutral. I have checked all fuses *#29 and others and everything is ok. The truck drives fine but I have to turn overdrive off. This can't possibly be a coincidence can it? I find it hard to believe that my OD in the transmission went out at the same time the battery shorted. Is it possible a solenoid got fried or something? Would this allow normal transmission operation but no overdrive? Any help would be appreciated. |
What transmission? What year?:

D Try not to hit the same pothole. |
Bump that bad, I either dodge or straddle it.
Good chance he's gonna find other connector shook loose. IDOT getting stingy about fixing pot holes? |
