my name is Joseph and I have a shifting problem. I bought my 2005 f150 4.6l stx (4x4) new. I have done all maintenance on schedule and all repairs. at 340k the original motor died so I dropped in a newer 4.6l with 120k. a couple months later I replaced everything up front, all ball joints, upper /lower control , basically all suspension and chassis are new. all in all this has been a great truck for over 350,000 hard miles. a few days ago I was driving home and out of nowhere I shall out and get a " tranny failure". hooked up to a scan tool and found the problem was the throttle control actuator. replacing this did not fix the problem. this time the scan tool wrote me a book. pulled codes

a very trustworthy and long time mechanic friend suggested it might be time to replace the transmission. I agreed and had been anticipating this for awhile as I had lost o/d 2 years ago. so i replaced the transmission with an 80k mile salvage unit / brand new torque converter. I CLEARED ALL CODES and turned the key with confidence. nope. this only made things worse. now, in addition to all the original codes im slipping like crazy. limp mode is the new normal. I have checked all my connections and visually inspected all my wiring. I have checked that the transmission filter is where it belongs. I have checked and double checked my fluid levels. I'm fairly convinced that I have a wiring or pcm issue but I am really, really, tired of spending all my free time under this truck . if any one out there has had the similar issues or maybe some advice. please help
