New transmission issues.......

I bought a 2001 f150 with 145k with a new transmission. After driving it a bit I noticed that the shift points were off and it lacked low end power. The plugs, packs, fuel pump and filter are all new also. I pulled out of my neighborhood the other day and hit nearly 4500rpm in 1st gear before I let off then it shifted to 2nd then immediately to 3rd. It doesn't shift hard or anything it just feels off and rpms are high. Took it to the transmission place and they said that they didn't see anything wrong with it of course but they put a higher stall torque converter in it but it hasn't solved anything. Had the motor checked out and throws no codes, had the cats checked as well and they are fine. Replaced the tps and still runs the same. Need help!

the torque converter was installed after i was having the issues, that was their attempt to fix it since it was under warranty i dont think they wanted to do much else as far as getting into the interior of the trans.

I hate to say this... but find another transmission shop.

I have no clue why they would mess with putting a high stall converter in it. It's not a hot rod.

What puzzles me, is they need to pretty much remove the transmission to put a different converter in it. Or the bigger question -- Did they do anything at all?

i highly doubt it bc i saw no difference once it was installed. looks to be a new ford trans.

Yeah, sounds like they are pulling the wool over you.

Find a new shop quick.

If you want to get it fixed under warranty, you are pretty much stuck with that shop.

Find a scanner that can read Ford transmission codes, cheapies can't do it.
