Anyone successfully change speedo with tuner 4r70w

Wife lost the trans in her 2002 F150. I got a low mile 04 trans from from a local yard and swapped it in. I did not realize that the tone wheel in the trans was different between model years.
Has anyone successfully used an SCT tuner or other device to correct this? I really dont want to have to pull this transmission again to correct this. Is it possible to pull the transfer case back and swap the gears through the tailshaft housing?

Definitely not possible to swap the gears out the back side. I pulled the old trans apart to find out. If I can't change anything with a tuner, I guess I'll be pulling the trans again.

You can definitely change that by having a custom SCT tune made to account for it.

Did you specify for them to change the output shaft sensor count?

Yes. Talked with Josh. He pulled a strategy for a newer model year truck they had on file. New truck says 24 holes, mine says 6 holes. Josh says he thinks he can fix me up.

Should be good to go.

If there is any issue with it, I can probably help out too. Just let me know.

Just a follow up. This did work. Truck runs great now. I may have to call them and bring the shift points down a mph or 2 because it does draw the shifts out, but I am very pleased. I may be able to do that myself with the sct though. I haven't had much time to play with it.

If they included the ability to adjust shift points through the customer options on the handheld then you should be able to. I always allow at least minimal user level adjustments for simple stuff like that where it really won't hurt anything.
