Read out the OBD2 with a scanner that can read Ford transmission codes.

Something inside the transmission broke. It's going to need to be pulled and opened up and rebuilt. Probably a clutch has welded itself in the engaged position.

If removal and rebuild isn't in your comfort zone, take it to a shop. I wouldn't even bother trying to read codes, it has an internal mechanical failure.

If you want plug and play, you'll want to stay between 2005-2008.
