2001 F150 4.6 4r70w problem

Hello,

I've researched a lot on the forums and was pretty sure before that it's the transmission..

A while back I pulled out of the driveway and had some grinding noises and slippage. Fluid is good, smells good. Drove it around a bit today, still slipping and noise. It was driving good and not slipping once I get up 25-30 mph. Just at lower speeds. Was hard to hear exactly where it was coming from. If I shift down into first or second it's worse. Same noise in reverse. Got home and had my daughter listen while I drove forwards and backwards. Sound is coming from the front not the rear diff. Speedo will bounce around wildly sometimes. Now it's locking up when I put it in drive or reverse. I'll push the gas and it'll eventually shudder hard and start going.

Been a long time since I've dropped a tranny and mostly worked on old rigs so just want some input before I rip into it.

Hoping I just need a rehaul kit.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like your transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced.
