If the OD light is blinking, you need to read out the EEC trouble codes.

The transmission is electronically controlled. The flashing OD light is to the transmission as the check engine light is to the engine, they both store trouble codes in the PCM.

Do you have a 4R70W or a E4OD? The door jamb sticker will tell you, look at the TRANS code. 4R70W is "U" and the E4OD is "E".

( is this true or some what true I was told it may be the solenoids the control locker and the 2 shifter solenoids )

You need to read out the codes to tell you which solenoids are having issues, or if it's something else.

Yeah, the best source of information on what's wrong is the computer in the truck. It's seeing an error. IF you can find out what it's not happy about then we can help guide you on where to go with it from there.

You MUST read the codes to be able to fix this. If you keep driving it the way it is I guarantee that you'll need a new transmission.
