I have a 04 4.6 2wd with a4r75w trans that is toast... I've got an 03 with a4r70w for parts... Will this trans be compatible?

 

From what I can tell there mechanically identical... But I've herd that the ring gear might be different, and the 4r75 has an extra speed sensor... All I need to know is if I can bolt the trans in place and limp along till I've got 1800 to spare for a monster trans

 

It'll bolt up. You will only have reverse, second gear and no lockup. That's going to suck a whole lot.

Oh, and the speedometer will read 80mph when you're going 20

 

Got lucky found a used 4r75 out of a totaled 04 expedition picked it up for 300 no return policy so hopefully it won't be dead doing mine now then we will get the new one in and pay to the car God's I've got gears again... Now if I can only get to the thre two bolts on top of the bell housing the old trans is out and I've got a place to put the new one
