Transmission Problem

Transmission Problem

I have a 1997 F150 4x4 with 5 speed manual Transmission. Was pulling into a parking spot truck shuddered sounded and felt like had been hit. Now I only have 5th and reverse gears won't shift into 1st,2nd,3rd,or 4th can any one tell me what went wrong ? Help Please.Please can any one possibly tell me what happened in my transmission to cause it to only have 5th gear and Reverse It is a M5OD Transmission and will not shift into first,second,third,or fourth only fifth and reverse it is a 1997 F150 Ext cab 4x4

It sounds like there is internal transmission gear or synchronizer issues.

Does it go into first thru fourth gear when the engine is off by chance?

If it shifts into those gears with the engine is off, there is a chance it could be the clutch. Doubtful though.

NO it will shift into 5th and reverse only engine off or running same fifth and reverse only

Then it is broken.

I would recommend taking it into a transmission shop or the dealer and having them open it up and see what the carnage is.
