Clutch won't disengage

I have a 2000 F350 5 speed manual trans with about 90,000 miles. I was moving some trailers around the yard in 4WD and all was fine except a hot/burning smell. Parked the truck, shifted into 2 WD, turned the hubs and left it for the night. In the morning I tried to shift into 1st or 2nd and it wouldn't let me. Started in gear, but you could tell the clutch wasn't disengaging it. A mechanic who had recently tuned up my truck said it was the master and slave. He replaced. Same problem.
Tried to drive it yesterday and could match speed and power shift into 3rd gear. Still burning smell.
The mechanic is stumped. Said maybe the fork is bent or broken. Seems like an internal spring or maybe the pilot bearing.
I need the truck operational. It is my plow vehicle, I live in Minnesota and its December.
Anyone have ideas?

At this point, the transmission is going to have to come out for a full clutch system inspection.

It almost seems non-mechanical. It worked fine, but smelled hot. Parked over night and the next morning would not disengage. I don't think gremlins crawled into the transmission over night. There must be a simple solution.

It's not a transmission issue, it's a clutch issue. The trans has to come out and the bellhousing removed to get in there to see what's going on.

As glc states, it is a clutch issue.

It is not hard to remove transmissions with the right tools.
