Embarrassing

Hey all, new here.

I drive a 2008 f150 stx with the 4.6. Tonight I got challenged to hook up to a 07 chevy trailblazer. Well it didnt go anywhere near the way i planned.. my truck decided it wanted to sit at 2k on the tach with no wheel spin at all. His trailblazer actually pulled mine. Im gonna get **** for a long time about this. (Problem with living in a Chevy town). Now i believe iv got the 3.55 gearing. Any ideas as to why the motor wouldn't get me out of that low end no torque area? need help figuring out what to do different so i can make a comeback and kick a chevys ass. Thanks guys.

4.10 gears. It's like using a bigger wrench. You can take the same amount of power from your engine and translate it into more torque to the wheels.

Also if you're running tires that are larger in diameter than OE that effectively decreases the torque going to the ground.

Thanks man, I'll look into the gears. No idea how much or how difficult they are to do. And my tires are OE size.

shoulda just hit your brakes and waited for him to spin his tires and then you nail it and tow him outta the yard.... ;)

Hooking up two rigs end to end has nothing to do with who's has more power.. It's all about traction and timing and technique.

Good luck next time.. :)

Problem is I did do that lol. He was spinning the whole time. Issue was, my tach didn't cross 2k and i had 100% traction just didnt have **** for torque behind it. Ridiculously embarrassing.

Hummm... you should have been singing at around 4 grand in that case?? What gear was the trans in?

Had her in 1st. That's why my mind was blown. Just sat at 2k. No tire spin. Just planted to the gravel there lol

The only time I completely bogged down with my foot to the floor was towing my #5000 TT up a 10% grade in my neighborhood and I had it in 2nd gear and it wouldn't go over 2000 rpms... I pulled it into 1st and it instantly went to over 4 grand and I shot up the hill... This was with my 97 F150 with the 5.4 in it with over 200,000 miles on it at the time.. ;)

Dunno what to say about your deal there....

Maybe some sort of traction control program kicked in and wouldn't allow max power without seeing any vehicle movement?
