Does anybody know if there is a gasket on top of the transmission ? I had the oil changed at my dealer this week and they told me they added 2qts of fluid. I did not notice any problem with shifting before but after adding the fluid the p/u drives quiet! The mechanic it looked like that it was leaking at the top of the transmission. I take the p/u in to change oil about every 5000 miles and this time it had been 2 years since the last change. They are supposed to check all fluids at oil change but I don`t think the transmission has ever been checked! So the fluid leaked out over 2 years or over 15 years. Do I have to worry about the transmission? There is NO fluid on the garage floor under the pick up.
