2wd to 4wd swap problems

i got a 96 f150 2wd with 5.0 with 4r70w automatic trans converted it to 4wd from a 93 f150 with 4.9 e40d automatic trans changed the computer from a 96 that had the e40d trans and 5.0 moter so the problem i am having is trans will not shift right i know there is nothing wrong with the trans b\c drove the 93 with no problems for several months any ideas on what i ouer looked on swaping out

Did you change the wiring? The pinouts are different between the two transmissions.

changed the harness from trans to where it plugs innext to the air box

You need to see if the engine harness to PCM connector pinouts are different. You might need to move some wires.

checked the two plugs they are a little different from each other the 93 that the trans harnes came out of has some light blue wires but the 96 dose not have tried to get a wire diagram from the ford dealer but only thing they showed was the harnes as a whole not the colors of the wires dose any one know where i can find that info

Does the car PCM know you have truck tires (i.e. different size)? Different rear axle ratio?

the tire size and axel will have nothing to do with the problem i am having checked the wireing diegram and it only shows the pin locations on the trans plug end not were the two harness meet

What do you mean trans will not shift right? What is the 96 PCM out of?

i changed the pcm it came out of a 96 bronco 5.0 with a e4od trans but it shows trans codes p0708 p0743 p0755 p1747 p1754 on the pcm did not have any probs when this was in the other truck when u put in drive and try to move it like u are holding the brakes
