transmission problem? need advice

I own a 2007 4.6 f150 and just hit 85k. last month I had the tranny, coolant and differential fluid changed...A few days later I noticed a light, high pitched metallic ringing noise when i go above 2000 rpms in 2nd through 5th gear or when Im cruising on the highway. It come and goes with pressure to the gas pedal. I returned to the dealership and was told that the noise is coming from the thrust bearing #9 in the transmission. Does this sound right?
The dealership said it is not worth fixing right now. What can I expect down the road? could it be caused by the trans and differential service I had?
Any advice would be appreciated. Im a little concerned about trans failure down the road.

Yes. I feel the same way. Ive made a huge deal out of it with the service manager there to no avail. Now that my business will never return to them... I am still wondering how detrimental this bad bearing really is. It would cost me 1500 for them to tear the tranny apart and replace the thrust bearing and still have a five year old transmission. Or Im thinking it would be smarter to simply let the truck go altogether and not have to worry about my transmission failing. Im really bummed about this.
