New to the site. My transmission sort of lerched between 2nd and 3rd gear. The dealership checked it out and said they had to reset a computer something or other. I was just wondering if this is normal? Can the computer forget its settings? How did that happen. The only modifications on the truck is a 2.5" leveling kit and 285/75/R17 tires. It's a 2009 XLT 4x4

 

They flashed some new firmware into the computer to take care of that issue. It's not a matter of forgetting its settings, it's a matter of poorly written firmware from the factory.

 

I have had a similar problem. Seems to be back again.
