Hello Ford Enthusiasts. I have a 1996 Ford F150 2WD, 5.0. The overdrive button is blinking, and the code I get is a P0743. That says that the TCC solenoid is bad. I saw this post, but realize it is for a 2001 model. Does anyone have pics of the inside of the tranny to show the solenoid, and the wiring harness. I know now to do it, just want to make sure I buy the right parts before tackling this job. The transmission is running fine, no apparent smoke or bad odor. The overdrive works and the truck seems to shift fine. I bought this tranny off of ebay as a rebuilt one, and put it in around june of last year. When I shut the truck off and restart the blinking light on the od button goes off and only comes back on at a certain speed.

4 CAREFULLY remove lead frame assy.
5 Remove 10mm and 8mm bolts holding shift solenoids.
6 REMOVE SHIFT SOLENOIDS by pulling straight out. Replace 2 small o-rings.
7 Pull out TCC solenoid
Then reverse the procedure.

I actually haven't done this yet.

I talked to my family friend who's also my mechanic and he said it could have been something sticking.

I've driven over 500 miles and the CEL hasn't come back on.

 

where can i find one at a part store? im looking everywhere but the only terminology i know of it is transmission wire harness/ i call it a circuit board makes more sense, but i need to find one asap, mine has a crack in it, what about a junk yard? im iffy about electrical parts and sensors and what not, i belive in buying all new but cant find on

orilleys didnt call the tcc a tcc, they call it Automatic Transmission Control Solenoid...whatever..see my point im not sure where to get one please help!! need to get to work, 99 f150 xlt 4.2 2wd 4r70w 14 bolt pan

 

The dealer replaced mine under warranty when they changed the solenoids.

If I remember correctly the bill would have been about $480. But, being my truck was still under warranty, I didn't have to pay anything. I keep all of my receipts for work done on my truck. I will look for it and respond back with a pic of the receipt.

 

Of course...behind the engine, the wire harness was cooked..tried to upload pics wouldn't let me

 

I was referring to the wire harness inside of the transmission.
