Talking Hurst!!

Finally got the new Hurst shifter in my truck.
It is amazing how much difference there actually is. I highly recommend it to anyone with the m5od.

The old.

Old and new on the work bench.

I'm in love.

Hurst super boot.

Did yours come with a boot to cover the lever where it goes into the shift tower?

No it did not, I used the original one that's just some foam crap that doesn't do much of anything.
Should I have something else for it?

Notice all the crap on the boot of your stock shifter. Without a boot to cover the tower where the lever comes out will allow all that crap to find its way inside the shift tower and possibly the transmission.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

I was actually thinking about that when I put it in. What would you suggest I use to cover it, the piece of foam from the stock shifter probably won't do jack.

On of my son's Honda Civics lost its boot. Contact Hurst and ask them for one of theirs. Here is a pic of one on an M5OD shifter.
