auto to 5spd

I recently purchased a 99 ext cab. Unfortunatly the tranny is starting to go. My plan is to swap the 5spd tranny from my old truck into the new one. My only concern is getting the truck to run again. Is there any electircal issues I should be considering before doing this?

What was the old truck, make, model, year? What transmission was in it? What engine?

You will need a tune to remove the transmission controls in the PCM. What are the 8th digits of the VIN numbers of the trucks? Pray they are the same to save a few$$. If not you will need a new flywheel. You will need to transfer the pedals and hydraulic clutch system to the new truck. Can you live without the clutch pedal lockout for the starter? Yours is jumpered because of the automatic tranny. You will need the front driveshaft from the 250. A custom rear drive shaft or a junkyard one from a manual is needed. Measure and cut a hole in the floor. The rest is transplant the tranny.

No, it needs to be reprogrammed by a competent tuner. I can vouch for Troyer Performance but you should post that question in the chips section and get more opinions.

Is it possible to just take the PCM out of the 5spd truck and swap that over with the trans?
