Crown Vic Transmission into F150

I need to put a new transmission in my truck. It is a 2000 F150 4.6. I found a tranny out of an 01 and an 02 Crown Vic 4.6. Only 90k and for $325. I have already tried a tranny out of a 97 Vic and it went in fine and the sensors plugged up but something in the wiring of the sensor were in different places and it would not connect to the computer. But I read that 98 and up will work. Please help me out. Thanks Alot

By the way the driveshaft has already been shortened so it fits in the f150 and crown vic transmissions.

i cant remember what year i heard it was, but to help as much as i can, the trans is the same especially if your doing a 2wd truck. there was a year, either 99 or so (best of my memory im sorry) that the main connector changed. there was a white and i heard black was the other color? you can remedy this issue by dropping the pan, and swapping internal wiring harnesses.

although you're honestly better going with as new of a 4r70w as you can get. from what i been told, 97 is a hit or miss on the good parts. 98 is the start of the good stuff.

You have to watch to make sure the tailshaft housing is the same length. A lot of the Panther platform cars had a longer tailshaft.

But, if you get a transmission from a 98-03 it will work. In 03 late they switched the output shaft to one that doesn't have any drive teeth for the speedo gear. Not sure if your particular truck needs that or not.

And, this is all only if you have a 2wd truck.

If you need help, just ask.

It will not work unless the Expedition is 2wd with a 4R70W. If the tailshafts are not the same length you will need a modified driveshaft.
