Vibration from hell

Hi guys, I have a 95 f150 xl with 5.0 backed by an automatic. The problem I'm having is whenever the trans up shifts the whole truck vibrates like hell. I doesnt matter what speed or how much throttle and is the most pronounced when going into 3rd and OD. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like torque converter shudder to me. Unless it does it on the 1-2 shift as well that is. If could also be the engine misfiring. That and EGR problems are often the root cause of shuddering or jerking complaints.

when upshifting it shifts really hard, when my fox body was doing this all I did was adjust a cable but then again that was an aod. Is there a way to adjust the shift firmness? Its not the engine misfiring, this is definetly transmission based, I just dont know jack about E4OD transmissions.

Check the transmission supports and universal joints.

125,000 on the body I think, but only about 6,500 on motor and tranny. I got the truck for free b/c my company was going to scrap it, and my fox body is still awaiting its new heart. Thanks for the suggestions guys I will look at it this week when I change the oil.

The AOD is controlled by the TV cable, but the E4OD is all electronically controlled, there are no similar adjustments.

Are you sure you have a E4OD and not a 4R70W or AOD-E?
