Question clunk from a standing start?

I thought i have read about this topic in the past but I can't find the post now. From a standing start, my truck acts like it’s got a stall speed converter in it. It does it all the time. I would call it a clunk but it's just a slip and catch sorta thing. Does that make any sense?
Thanks

My '04 with 4.6L does that too. When I'm rolling and begin to accelerate then let off the gas and re accelerate i get that clunk sound like the differential has slack in it.

Same thing with the cold start sometimes it acts like it has a stall converter.

Asked Ford dealer about it not long after i bought it and they said it was normal.

Mine ended up being a drive shaft. I thought that was kind of funny though. The truck only has 27,000 on it. The clunk is gone and we still have 9,000 miles worth of warranty so we will see.........Thanks y'all

anyone get that noise when accelerating, sounds like two plates hitting together? I have it on my truck and it was on my Express van...
