What year, how many miles, has the fluid ever been changed, have the sparkplugs and coils ever been changed?

This may be a low grade engine misfire, not a tranny problem.

The ignition coils that are on top of each spark plug, you don't have a distributor or coil packs or spark plug wires. At 79k, if the spark plugs have never been changed, it's about time to do it. Did the truck come with any kind of warranty?

Pack a lunch. Make that 100 mile drive and take advantage of your warranty.
