my problem is one day my clutch would slowy start to engage closer and closer to the floor to the point were it was almost on the floor before it engaged i took it to a shop and he thought nothing was wrong i got in and it felt like new and it has done this process over probably five times

it would help if you posted what year and model truck you have but assuming its newer its proboly a failing hydrolic master or slave cylinder i would check the clutch fluid level to see if your loosing fluid is your low or empty youve got a leak and you need to find the leak and replace the part

 

its a 98 4.2 4x4 5sp manual and trans was replaced at 70,000 now i'm up to 149,000 and i never knew i could check the clutch fluid level because i know you can't check the trans fluid on a manua alsol were would i check the clutch fluid level

 

the clutch fluid is right next to the brake fluid and theres a rubber "diafram" that you have to pull out of the resovior to check it as long as its half full you should be alright

also you can check the trans fluid but you have to get under the truck and remove the fill plug to do it
