Mag-Hytec Diff cover

Howdy fellas, stupid question, I have a 3.55 LS rearend on my 01 4.6 XLT with the factory tow package. For xmas i'm gonna see if I can swing a Mag-Hytec Diff cover, as then it would be easier too put a diff. temp guage (phantom I) along with the other two guages I want too install (trans temp, and a true Oil Pressure) so as to fill my 3 Pod A-pillar guage holder. Is there any reason too believe that I wouldn't have the 9.75 and instead have a 8.8?
~Phil
:Edit: I'm an idiot and didn't read the thread below me, but when I whent out and checked the only tag on my diff said (Synthetic oil only blah blah with no numbers except the oil part##) so what do I do?!

With the 4.6 you have a 8.8 rear, regardless of having the tow package.
