Teen Trashed transmission

I own a 1977 Ford F150 that is mostly used for trips to the dump, snow plowing, and to tow our travel trailer. The truck has a C6 transmission. It was rebuilt about 10 years ago. During a recent trip to the dump, my almost 16 year old son accidentally shifted into reverse while doing about 45mph. I will refrain from all of the details of how this happened and get to the question. Does anybody know what parts would likely break from this kind of treatment? We were able to move the truck out of the road only by flooring the accelorator. It would barely move with the engine revved up as high as I dared. I was able to have my husband tow it home and here it sits. I am going to take it to the shop next week and would love to hear some opinions on what I may hear from the mechanic. I have been looking at the prices of Torque converters and different parts to get an idea of what it may cost. I know one can never really tell until the tranny is out. Thank you in advance for any thoughts on the subject.:help:

Hate to say it, but I have to.
Sounds like that's going to be a very expensive driving lesson!
If the truck moves at very high RPM,,the clutches are gone and it will need a rebuild. Better get your check book out! could be $1500

It may be cheaper to get a tranny out of a boneyard, it's hard to determine what went without disassembly.

And a fully rebuilt C6 is about 500-700 bucks. What motor do you have?
