big leak!!

I have a big leak coming from that little plastic insert on the bottom of the fly wheel. i have the 4r70w and at first i thought it was the seals. i changed all the main seals and gaskets and it does not stop leaking. Its leaking from that plastic insert and the leak gets worst when i accelerate. Like i said i have changed all the gaskets and seals but still cant find the problem. Is there something im missing? If i put it on drive it engages with no problem but the leak is non stop. Thanks

I don't know much about transmissions. But you may first want to identify the liquid that is leaking I assume out of the trans/bell housing inspection plug. Engine oil can leak through the plug from a rear main seal leak. Coolant can leak there also from a freeze plug and of course transmission oil either from a trans seal or the Torque converter. What kind of liquid is it?

Was it the engine main seals you replaced or the trans ? If it was the trans you could have a scored converter hub not sealing right in the front pump seal and or it has damaged the new one you just put in. If you take the trans out have the front pump hub bushing checked also.

What motor do you have ? Could be an intake leaking into the valley and or the bypass pipe that goes from the back of the water pump to the rear of the pass side cyl head. There is a plastic plug in the back of the valley that goes right into the bell housing and will leak out of the bottom.

if its coolant deffinatly sounds like water, you better get that fix before it comes off or motor over heat.

Can you elaborate on what type of fluid you see? If it's oil, you need to replace the rear mail seal on the engine. If it's tranny fluid, you need to replace your front pump seal on the tranny. Both of these jobs require you to drop the tranny. I had the same problem with my truck; it was the front pump seal. When I took it to the tranny shop, they determined the tranny needed to be rebuilt. Yes, I realize they could have just simply told me that, but I had them keep the parts and show me. It needed rebuilt. $2800 later, I have a new tranny. If you simply need to replace the pump seal, you're looking at roughly $700.
