think i have tranny problems
i have a 92 f150 with 302 and right at 150,000 miles, but today i went to pass a vechile doing about 60mph and as i put the peddle down my truck just reved up to about 4k rpms and started slowy gaining more speed, im quessing it just didnt upshift or something.

Could just be the gearing. My 84 doesn't really like to get up that much to pass a car at those speeds. Can pull like a beast in the low end, but top end not so much.

If the engine RPMs raised but the tranny didn't downshift or the drivetrain didn't speed up, that means the tranny is slipping.
You can often buy some time by doing a fluid change and adding a bottle of RED LUBEGUARD to the fluid. Sometimes helps.
Avoid the slipping condition, it really accellerates the rate of wear.
