not sure what sectoin to post this in so i will start here

im looking at buying a 2002 FX4 (150) but it looks like it doesnt have a tow package....what exactly does that mean it is lacking besides a hitch receiver?

 

I may be missing something in the list but you would have a larger capacity radiator, a transmission cooler, larger capacity battery, tow hitch and a 7 pin trailer connector and maybe a lower axle gear.
Many were equipped with a tow hitch and a 4 pin connector that would be suitable for light towing such as a small utility trailer or pop-up camper that would not be such an additional load that needed the rest of the extras.
I had the light towing hardware but added all the heavey duty parts to pull as much as 12,000 gross weight on a weekly basis.

found a great deal on a truck that is in GREAT shape but its not a color i *love* it doesnt have the moonroof i was hoping for and i would be losing the tow package of my current 98....

so close...
