Maximum speed of my F150

I tried to max my 2004 F150 out and it only went to a hundred miles per hour. I have a 5.4L. My friend has a 4.6L and he maxed at 95 miles per hour. Is there a regulator on the trucks or what.

That has nothing to do with the tranny. The limiter is Computer Controlled at 100-110 MPH depending on year. The limiter is there...however...to keep the tranny from going over what it should, and the brakes, and (more than likely) the tires. You want it off? There are two ways to do that...#1 cheapo depo way is just turn the key before you hit the limiter speed (won't crank don't worry just bypasses that program) or the better way is to just get a tuner.

You'll be hard pressed to find an f-150 excluding a lightning that will be anything near safe at those speeds. I'd say 95-100 mph is about as fast as you should go in one of these.

I had mine up to 110 and it drove fine. I kept it there for about 10-15 miles then had to slow down, do to the red and blues in my review hehe. I have 2005 F150, supercrew with AF1 and Troyer's tuning, it handled fine and drove nice. I wish I had a supercharger under the hood.

While doing a dyno run, the spedo registered ~140mph. TP tunner on 87 gas, stock tires.

All I know is my truck CRUISES at 80 so easy it's not funny. Feels like I'm doing about 40.

Cool

HI!... I've had my F-150 up to 150MPH with no problems. Perfectly smooth and runs perfectly true. Could of took my hands off the wheel it was so steady. Thats with no front or rear sway bar.

Top Speed

I was able to reach 122 MPH in my 06 FX4 Supercab. I have a roush dual exhaust and Edge Evo Tuner to eliminate the Rev and Speed limiters. Very smooth at 122MPH no shaking. I could have gone alittle faster maybe but got nervous about getting a high speed ticket so I backed off.

Some Focus ST tried to race me starting at about 70 mph and I pulled on him up to 120~ and then I let off. I had some mild vibration, but I think it was my tire balancing...one of my wheels is a little off right now. Aside from that, power was fine...I didn't run out of power, just courage

(I've got Troyer 91 perf, GREEN intake, magnaflow exhaust, 4.1 gears, and 22s)
