Reverse not Engaging when hot!

Hello i have a 97 f-150 Long bed, with the 4.6 and auto trans. the truck shifts very smooth like new i would say, first to second, second to third, third to overdrive all of them shift so smooth no kind of problems, the problem is that the truck wont shift to reverse, well it would shift when cold but when it reverse walks it feels rough, when i drive around the truck for a while and it warms up the truck wont shift to reverse at all, what do u think that the problem is???? the trans fluid is alright it doesnt smell bad and it doesnt look burned. hope u can help me. thanks so much

Probably rebuild time.

You might get lucky and it's only a valve body problem. For whatever reason, your reverse hydraulic circuit is either leaking or the reverse clutch is toast.

Reverse is a manually controlled function in the transmission. The computer has no input into the proper operation while in reverse.
