Newbie with tranny question
My father in-law needs to know if a 1989 f150 overdrive transmission will fit into a 1992 f150 with electronic overdrive transmission.
He's not internet savvy so I thought I would check around for him. The only specs I have for both vehicles are that they are "302's" and not 4x4 any help would be great! |

Model: AOD Type: Four speed non electronic Years: 85-93 Bronco, F-Series Engines: 300, 302 Display: PRN(D)D1 Fluid: Mercon Ratios: 1st 2.40:1 2nd 1.47:1 3rd 1.00:1 4th 0.67:1 Trans code: T Howdy and welcome!, the two trannys are different in a few ways but you could do it. Different lengths for one, so you'd need a different drive shaft. The AOD is controlled by a TV cable to the throttle body so you'd need to install that. The shifter has a linkage instead of a cable. When you remove the E4OD, the computer will throw a hissy and store all the codes for the "broken" E4OD. Won't affect the engine, but will set a check engine light. Adrianspeeder Adrianspeeder |
