Want to install a Factory-Tech tranny valve body
 

I have a 2002 F-150 supercrew lariat 4x2 with the 5.4L engine, not sure whether I have the 4R100 or the 4R70w tranny. I want to install a factory-tech tranny valve body from troyer performance. Does anyone have this installed on their 02 s'crew? My signature has a list of my mods.

Triton 5.4 L V8 w/ Ford performance 24 lb injectors.
4.10 rear w/limited slip
295/45-20 Yokohama Parada spec-X and MB motoring 20x9.5 "Deep" hi-polished chrome wheel
Xcal2 custom tune by Troyer Performance
AirForce One Air intake
Two single in/single out Proformance mufflers w/ Magna Flow stainless tips exiting behind the right rear tire.
White w/ Arizona beige trim

I have an 03 screw. basically the same truck.

The FTVB is a fairly easy mod. I think troyer is going to have to redo your XCal.

How did the truck perform after the valve body mod? Was it a noticeable improvement over the stock? Thanks for the info.

E is the 4R100 and U is the 4R70w on your door jam sticker.

There is no sticker on my door jam. Never mind I found it. I have the 4R70w.

It is a noticeable difference over stock. Whether it is an improvement is in the mind of the beholder. When you really get on the accelerator it snaps into gear like a speed shift with a stick shift. Good for me but always suprises my wife and she doesn't like it.

At slower acceleration the shifts are firm and quick, which is what we are looking for when we make the change. I think you'll like the results.

If you do this mod, pay attention to where the springs are and how the spring covers are located in the original valve body. The old instructions weren't too good and there can be confusion over how a particular conical spring cover fits back into the valve body.

I suggest the plate kit for the later model transmissions it is just as effective, not much more work and considerable less expensive.

The SC is easy to suggest parts for http://www.supercoupeperformance.com
They know supercoupes inside out.
On the supercoupe the last year they were built was 95, meaning to be a
4r70w yours has to be 94 or 95. There is not a plate kit available for that transmission you will need an entire valvebody that will require adapter pins to use a later valvebody in the application. You will also need the new style accumulators and springs to make the proper changes. If you talk to Bill at Supercoupeperformance he can guide you down the right path on that car.

Sorry in my world SC means Supercoupe I forgot all about supercrew we always termed that one screw. The factory tech C-plate kit from troyer will do exactly what you want.
