replacing an E4OD with the 4R100

I have a 97 F-150 4X4 with the 5.4. My original transmission is showing signs of going south. Is it possible to replace the E4OD with the 4R100 without any interchangable problems? Is the gear ratio's different between these transmissions? I also have Mike Troyers custom tuning program(SCT), will this have to be changed also? Thanks guys for any help........

Gear ratios are identical. The only problem you may have is compatibility between the computer and the solenoids. There were changes over the years, and some computers won't work with some solenoids. I wish I knew the details, but I don't.

Only conflicts would be electrical and computer control, if any. Haven't read of a swap.
