Truck is an 04 (new body) f150 3v 5.4 4x4 Auto

Does anyone know if the manual transfer case is the same as the electronic case.

Is the only difference in the 4x4 engagement? I was looking to do the same thing on my ranger but the T Cases are actually different.

What I am looking to do is put a lever on and ditch the switch.

I know the switch does the same thing, but I am looking for an excuse to work on my truck and that seems like a fun thing to do .

My 97 had the lever and there is something about having the lever there.

Maybe I just like to grab my ****.
